This privacy policy governs the use of the website Enhanced Chess ("site") developed by WaffleStock ("we" or "us"). This policy outlines the type of information that may be collected from users and its usage, storage, and protection.
Information collected, privacy and security
If you sign up with an email and password, or with Google, we store your email address, your chosen username, and (for email/password accounts) a securely hashed password. If you play as a guest instead, an anonymous session with no email or password is created for you, and it lives only in your browser.
We also store the games you play (moves, results, and rating) so we can show your game history, the leaderboard, and let you resume games in progress. Appearance and language preferences are saved in your browser's local storage, and synced to your account if you're signed in.
We don't use your data for advertising, we don't sell it, and this site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies or trackers.
Third-party services
This site relies on a few third-party services to work: Supabase handles authentication, our database, realtime updates, and backend functions; Cloudflare hosts the site and may log standard request data like IP addresses for security and performance; and, only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in, Google handles that authentication. We don't share your data with anyone beyond these.
Your data, your control
Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account (this removes your login and profile; your past game results stay on the leaderboard, no longer linked to your identity).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to ask what we hold about you. Contact us below for anything Settings can't do for you directly.
